Well we have survived the Komodo Dragon after an up close encounter on Rinca Island. These beasts are rather bizarre, prehistoric looking, creatures with a nasty bite full of bacteria that eventually sees off its prey. They can smell fresh blood up to 50km away so once they've bitten that poor buffalo they just follow it around for the next couple of days until it finally keels over.
We took to the seas for a couple of days chugging our way across some of Indonesia's roughest waters. Having reasonably well adjusted sea legs I was hoping for a few big waves but I was to be disappointed, though calm waters certainly made sleeping on deck a little easier. Our first stop en route to Lombok was Rinca Island home to those Kimodos. From there it was on to a couple of small islands along the way. James was delighted to be able to play on a rope swing and bomb into a river below. Numerous games of s*t head (by the way James' system is beaten, I rule) and the odd drinking game helped pass the time away before arriving in Lombok.
Another long day of overland travel took us from Sengiggi, Lombok back to Bali. After a quick night in Sanur it was on to the lovely little island of Nusa Lembongan. Unfortunately we don't have a great deal to report of our five days here as we basically did very little! Other than make the most of our last few days on the beach before heading on to Java. Watching some huge waves batter the coast line at Dream Beach from an infinity pool and oh and of course finding the perfect location for our new home! Ahhh it's a hard life...
