Howdy:,
Another beautiful sunny day , 26 degrees and out of our apartment at 9:30 for our day’s adventure.
Sue ( July McCoy) acting as our researcher and tour guide, made some suggestions and we chose to explore the ancient caves of Nerja. Bus tickets purchased with return ticket, 18 euros.
We popped by a tourist guide shop on the way to the bus stop as we want to walk parts of the Camino trail, but it’s not open yet. We will come back later.
K, we are at Cueva de nerje which loosely translates to Nerje (the city we are in) cueva ( caves).
The cave was massive and came with an intriguing story of how it was discovered. Apparently, two lads were playing “footy”. For you uneducated that is slang for football, which is soccer for north Americans . One lad fell down a hole out of sight and the other ran for help. Some splunkers went down and found the lad and the caves. This occurred 60 years ago.
Sue is dragging Kerry to the botanical garden right now and I chose to cut my wrist rather than go to a botanical garden. The lovely miss Periwinkle has chosen to stay with me as nothing appeared to be in bloom.
Well, our bus arrived some 45 minutes later and off we go for the 1 1/2 ride back to Malaga. Periwinkle slept and knit, knit and slept. She was happy.
Once back, we noted they were continuing to set up for a huge fashion show that we have learned starts at 8:30 tonight. And looky looky, we have a birds eye view from our balcony.
Before heading to our apt, we tried getting tickets for the trail but they were sold out.
But for now I’m tired so we grabbed a bite and a couple of rumskies and who knows where they will lead.
Went for dinner the European way, which is at 7:30 pm. Came back and fashion show was on in main square. The runway is 150m long with chairs along the entire runway four deep, both sides. Don’t know if big names are here or not as I don’t know crap about that life. Anyways, we are (were) watching it from our balcony 7 stories up. I feel like I am missing something???
Anyway tomorrow is take life easy day as we leave for Canary Islands the next day.
See ya
