And now we're in Adelaide...
A short 2 and a bit hours flight from Perth and a 1 and a half hours time difference, we touched down at Adelaide airport yesterday evening. A bumpy landing, but not as dicey as the landing in Perth, which had me grip hard on the seat in front and gasp a bit. A short bus shuttle to the city and we were at Annie's Place Hostel. We'd booked a double ensuite and were told we'd been given the honeymoon suite - this consists of the one full wall being covered in various photos of topless 'ladies' by an amateur photographer. Not pinned or blu-tacked - properly laid out and clear varnished on. A rather unique room! Chris hasn't picked his favourite yet, but perhaps we'll leave our own contribution... no no no :) . Last night was a wedding gift from Kate Morgan and I think someone has paid for tonight too - no list on me sorry - so thanks for the gift and the laugh!!!
Adelaide is cooler (27 celsius) and relaxed. We've looked all around town today and popped into the SA museum and the botanical gardens. Last night we hit the 'strip' and picked the one of many Chinese restuarants which was cheap, fast and very tasty. Tonight, although tempted to go and stuff our faces again, we're going to one of Adelaide's beach suburbs to meet up with Kim, one of the girls we met on Contiki NZ and who came to our wedding evening party as she was just finishing a European tour. Looking forward to seeing her again and having a bit more time to chat.
Early start tomorrow as we start our Adelaide-Melbourne tour at 6.15am but we're really excited to get out and do some proper sightseeing now.
