Monday 15th September - day 25 Kunming   We make our way to the bus station for the bus to the stone forest but wait over an hour for it to eventually fill up and set off. We arrive afternoon and it’s a little walk to the ticket office from the bus depot. Once there its 175rmb for the ticket and a further 25rmb for the electric car they insist you need as its 3ks to the entrance. We cough up and take the car to the entrance– on the drive daown we can see ...

Sunday 14th September – day 24 Zhangjajie – Kunming We arrive in Kunming at 3.30pm and wait about an hour for the bus to the hostel which only takes 10minutes. Cloudland hostel is a decent hostel no freebees, and the staff are quite miserable, but there is cheap western menu so we treat ourselves to a club sandwich and chips — amazing. We spend the rest of the day booking trains and working out our India route.

saturday 13th September - day 24  -zhangjajie So we are all mountained out from yesterday and our train to Kunming is at 4pm so we decide just to go up to 'yellow dragon cave' (huanglong dong) today. We walk down to the centre and get on the no1 bus straight to the cave. its 100rmb in and we are ushered through the entrance with 50 odd Chinese and a tour guide screeching into her megaphone. We let everyone pass us (which they were all pushing to do so anyhow) ...

Friday 12th September - day 23 Zhangjiajie We arrive at the station at 8am ish and take a bus from over the road, to the little town our hostel is in. We're not staying in zhangjiajie city but rather just outside the national park. The bus takes about 30mins and costs 12rmb each. Once were in the town we get a taxi for 15rmb which takes 5mins. There was a bus but we are unsure which way we should be heading towards and which stop to get off at for the hostel. ...

Thursday 11th September - day 22 Chengdu - zhangjiajie Our train to zhangjiajie takes about 22 hours with a change over at 12am at a station where we have to wait 4 hours for a 4am train to zhanagajie. We decide to wait outside the train station and find a little quiet spot to sit down in opposite. We are harassed by these two guys who drive past us on their motorbikes, stop right In front of us and just stare, muttering in Chinese. Theyk do this at least 4 ti...
