Hi,
Forgot about the FIRM. Forestry Research Institute of Malaysia. About 30 mins north of KL. All about environment etc. Has wonderful jungle canopy walks. Would suit Pete rather than Holly. Views are great but they do wobble quite abit!
Sorry about forgetting that one.
Phil.

Greetings Again,
KL things to do and see:-
Twin Towers everyday except Monday. Check weather forcast for day of visit. Great cheap eating mall within the building complex.
Central Market and China Town. Good for gifts atmosphere. Again first floor has very good Thai eatery. Cheap!
Ptealing Street night market Can be walked from China town area or use monorail.
Batu Caves. Worth a visit. Get ripped of with having animals put on you , you take pics then they want paying!. Beware. Only 272 to the top! Get there by minibus from Central Market
Templer Park further up the road from the caves. Nrearby is the Kanching Falls good place for a dip.
Merdeka Square. Beautiful colonial/moorish style buildings. Worth a visit at night as it is sometime lit up. Not far from Central Market. Close by is the old Cennral Railway Station. Again nice architecture.
Enjoy.
Phil.

Hi Pete and Hol, Love reading about your adventures, glad you're having a good time. Thanks for all your postcards,it's lovely to hear from you. The 'paddy fields ' have finally dried up and we finished combining yesterday, huge sigh of relief! Have been feeding fish and picking anything edible while Mum and Dad were away and watering houseplants. What a dipstick I felt when I realised the one plant was plastic.!!! Have fun, take care, Lots of love Helen and co.xxxx

Greetings from the early bird!
1 left out of 8 then day off! Great.
Glad that the trip is still going reasonably smooth. Have had a bad night with the little bugs in HK. Chung King Mansions! All part of the fun of travelling. Shangri-La's are far better.
Whilst in Penang it is worth a trip to the two hotels, mainly the Rasa Sayang on Batu Feringgi Beach. Just strool in and make it look like you are staying there. We never got challenged and had a good look round, then went for drinks at one of the pool bars. Nice place.
In the evenings there is a night mrket all along the main beach road. You must haggle or you will be well ripped off! I think that the HRC should now be open (or so we were told it would be) down at the bottom end of the beach.
The trip up the funicular railway is well worth the money. At the top we found a good restuarant with spectacular views over Georgetown. If you are lucky, there will be snakes in the tress above your heads as you eat. There is no extra charge for them!
Not long now before we join you for afternoon tea in Singapore. Counting down the shifts. 6 to go.
All the best to you both.
Phil.
