Hello everyone

Here is what we have been up to in Southern Washington. We left Fife (thanks again Briggs family) and headed South. Our destination was just North of Vancouver in town called La Center. Kurt and Carla have a niece that lives there named Ashley and she was happy to put us up for a few nights.

On the way there Chris nearly swerved of the highway when he saw a skate park on the side of the road. So we went back to check it out and Chris got to skate for a while before the sun went down. After skating we headed to Ashley's house. She has a beautiful house in La Center, which is about 20 minutes north of Portland. Ashley took us to experience some of the local culture at Prairie Tavern, a great little bar in town. We got to meet some of Ashley's friends and even experience some of the drama:) We loved it! The P.T. was a great introduction to La Center!

Saturday was pretty rainy and overcast. We hung out at Ashley's and watched movies and then ran some errands late in the afternoon. Chris made the Ashle(y)ieghs delicious bruschetta and mozzarella salad for dinner(I married him for his culinary skills). After dinner the three of us met up with Ashley's friend Chris and saw a movie.

On Sunday, Ashley and her friend Mandy took us into Portland to give us a tour of the city. We went to 23rd street. A great spot in the city with lots of little boutiques and restaurants. We went to Moonstruck and had some great chocolates and espresso. If you are ever in Portland you must check it out. After we all did some shopping and sightseeing we had lunch at a local pizza place. Portland was a lot of fun. On the way home Ashley drove us up a mountain that overlooked Portland. We saw some gorgeous houses and some amazing views of the entire city. Overall, Portland was awesome. We really appreciated the tour and had a lot of fun with Ashley and Mandy.
