After our meal at Hippo's creek we entered into a bar to play pool. Thought having an alcoholic drink would be good to blend in with the locals, but our jaws dropped in disbelief when a vodka red bull was $15! Alcohol is ridiculously priced! How can anyone afford to go out! After the boys took hours to finish their game of pool, most of the girls and scott headed to bar fun where my poor foot seemed to forever be jumped upon- and id purposely worn shoes to stop it hurting!. But oh no Fuller still managed to find a way to jump on them twice! They have a lot of punk and rock music here- alot of it me and Scott had never heard of it in our lives! So trying to dance with some over excited ozzies proved difficult! When A- we had no idea what the songs were, B- we couldn't even begin to guess the words, and C- they all knew the words! =awkward!!! I know they are a bit behind with music but they dont half have bad music taste!
Day 6- consisted of a nice long much needed lay in which was followed by a fry up from Mr Fuller! It was good! After breakfast Fuller thought it would he highly amusing to chuck Laura in the pool head first, when she was doing a good deed and getting Harvey's ball! Such a mean old man and because he's hench theres no chance I'll ever get my own back. After eating a lunch of smoked salmon salad and watching a bit of location location we drove to rugby training via Fullers work. Whilst waiting for Fuller to return our oxygen supply became less as he had locked us in the car with the windows shut! Cheers mate we were going to frazzle! Thankfully we found the key to open the windows. Meanwhile Fullers boss informed him there were 2 people jumping around in his car...haha! Well Fullers fault! Rugby training conditions were like ovens. Without any form of fan/breeze in sight! So Laura and Scott put off their first session until the heat became bearable. So at 6.45pm we ventured out into 30 degree heat and attempted to train in super duper long grass which tires you out soooo quickly! (if your Laura!) 10 reps of 20seconds later for Laura and 20 reps of 20seconds later for Scott we both finished training, wilting and in desperate need of water. This took warm weather training to a new hotness. We were then treated toa few cheeky UDL's and coronas by Lou the lovely lady behind the bar at the rugby club. Which after training on an empty stomach had more of an affect than usual. 4 UDL's later and Scott decided it was dinner time so we got a takeaway pizza and ate it on a rather empty beach and watched the moon set- was something we never expected to see. We wondered where the hell it had gone when it disappeared so Scott tried asking the locals...no response! |
Day 7- After oversleeping a little, we were late for a morning fry up at Damo's boss's house (we lied and said there had been a traffic jam) Scott was happy as he likes food (if you didn't know already!) We then made our way to the waterpark. After we put our bags down and Scott got pooed on yet again by a bird (on the right side which is apparently lucky...but still manky!) we made our way over to the dry rides. The first stop was the swingboat, which Laura thoroughly enjoyed but the boys all started to taste their fry ups. So we headed for something less exillerating...the go karts. After queueing behind millions of kids for years (I swear the kids here are never at school) we got on. Fuller was most displeased when he got the worlds slowest kart and got overtaken by everyone...even the little kids. Whilst Scotts went a little quicker...marginally. Laura Hamilton managed to lap everyone and had fun! Even though she got roadrage at some little kids-ooooops. The water rides were good fun, despite Laura getting a rather deflated rubber ring which hurt like hell when going down the rapids. The poor tush took a battering. The boys decided it was beer time...oh and food so we had a munch before going on the bumper car monorail around the outside of the park. Laura got grumpy when she took a bashing from Fuller, so hometime called. In the evening Laura was taken out shopping and for dinner to the city, to get outfits for the foillowing nights rubix cube party. Whilst Laura spent as little as possible on dinner due to having a buget, Scott splashed out on a huge dinner worth over 4 tims Laura's dinner. Hooooow rude! If we run out of money now I blame Scott and his huge expensive appetite. Highligh of Laura's trip in the city was seeing a huge fight between two girls in the centre. With that all kicking off the girls drove to meet the guys in the pub (where theyd spent a fortune). Found Scott chatting to a guy who reckoned he could run the 100m in 9.6 seconds. Oooooook love! (he also thought the world record was 8 seconds so that shows how much truth was in his time!) Damo was in a worse for ware state as the guys kept putting silver coins in his drink which meant he had to down it...so much for a quiet friday night session. After Kim's (one of the girls) cousin surprised her for her birthday by turning up we could all go home and sleep.
Day 8- After a late night, Laura and Scott struggled to roll out of bed at 8.30am as Laura had been invited to pilates by Lou from the rugby club after Laura had said how good is was when Lou enquired about it! A hungover Lou insisted to crazy Maureen (the instructor) she was relaxing when she layed there for the entire session and Laura revealed how slack she'd been on her core when she spend the entire time shaking during stretches and couldn't balance on the swiss ball to save her life! The pilates is weird over here. So all in all a worthwhile session to get up for. After we headed to Scarborough beach to meet up with Laura's friend from uni. We lasted almost an hour on the beach before the guys started moaning about being bored and hungry (they seriously aren't hardcore!) So Fuller took us and Nick to a Sushi bar as none of us ever tried it. Scott braved it and had prawns avocado and rice wrapped in seaweed whilst Laura wossed out and had chicken terryaki- still good though. After we went shopping for the boys outfits, they bought some bright coloured girls pants to wear over their jeans which Fuller was enjoying a bit too much. And when we showed Fukllers dad, he called Fuller a gayboy...how rude! Despite these comments the boys still went out in their questionable outfits! Over to Jared's at a ridiculously early time for a bbq, pool and pre drinks, before heading out to the first club at 9pm. Such keenos! One of the boys ended up in hospital after trying to catch a winecooler on his head- loony! Apart from that and a couple of full on fights (which apparently doesn't normally happen) it was a good night. To finish off the night Stevo fell down the stairs and finished it off with a bow! Nutters!
Day 9- We started off the night by going to Jared's for a...you've guessed it- a standard fry up on the barbe. We then had to fill Jared in on the nights events as like every drunk ozzie he remembered nothing of the night before so just carried on drinking. Seriously don't know how he does it. We then headed to the shops to get picnic food and headed to Cottesloe to pick up Lou and eat it on the rugby pitches as we didn't fancy sandy food from the beach. We just hoped we wouldn't be attacked by dogs again. We ate our picnic whilst watching the sun set. It was soooo booootiful! Scott thought he'd be romantic and offer me strawberrys and cream which to his disgust I laughed at and took the strawberry and ate it myself, before shoving cream on his nose with the next one! Haha! So Scott fed himself cookies and cream to make himself feel better and later on...sick! After eating an overdose of cookies, a sick feeling scott had a cinema date with Fuller, Laura and Lou. Like food, the cinema is overpriced here...but it still had to be done! We watched No Strings Attached which was a giggle and had Ashton Kutcher in :D it made Laura's night. But when it finished the only comment I could say made a bit too loud was 'was that it!' The ending could have been better!
Day 10- We once again got up at the crack of dawn, well...8.15 but because we were living the ozzie late night and drinks lifestyle we felt we needed more sleep to catch up with ourselves. We caught the 10.30 boat from Hilarys boat harbour (after scott pegged it to get tickets) to Rottnest island with Fuller and Lou. (Scott told told everyone on his fb status he's taken Laura to an exotic island...bless!) Once there and had breakfast and coffee we went and had a 5minute walk around the museum, which was shortened due to no air con! But we did learn how the island was formed, and all about the quockers! There is only one place in the world where quockers can be found so we decided to go on a guided quocker hunt with the tour guide-Terry! Who must have been in his late 70s and looked like he was wilting away bless him! Apparently your not allowed to feed the quockers , so he gave us some leaves to feed them, but told us not to tell anyone. Quockers look like mini kangaroos with tails like rats, cute all the same. Well you say cute until you see their nashers. They were huuuge! We then headed to the picnic benches to eat the remainders of yesterdays picnic. They still have annoying seagulls here that try and eat all your food, but thankfully they were a little smaller. Fuller had wanted to go on the kids inflatable play area all day long so was highly disappointed when he found out you had to pay $12 for half an hour- how rude! So off to the normal boring beach where Fuller and Scott went snorkelling and found...nothing, apart from seaweed and sand. Attempts of snorkelling were better this time from when he nearly drowned in the swimming pool in Rhodes! Time to head back to the bar for a cheeky drink...yes alcoholic...before heading back on the low airconditioned boat! Baack at Fullers we had a barbe for the evening where some of Fullers friends came over and criticised Fuller bbq skills-cheeky wotsits! But they still ate the food. Oh and there was a carton of posh goon to be finished! (Standard!) It was a lovely end to what had been a fantastic time in Perth where by the end we were one of the locals!
Onto Alice Springs now...will write again sooooon! xxx
