Walker's Travels in Scandinavia 2017 and others
Temp: Cycled: We set off after breakfast to Queenscliff along the Bellarine Rail Trail. It was was so peaceful along the rail trial that we did not rush. After finding a pharmacy for Y&G in Queenscliff, we made our way to the port where the ferry leaves from. Not only did we get some valuable information about costs, we also had mornos at RORO (roll on, roll off) cafe. It was not cheap but we all left looking like big fat ticks!! Fort Queenscliff was our next destination, however, it was a paid 90 minute tour and none of us wanted to spend 90 minutes touring an old Defence facility, least of course G&W. Command and Staff Course used to be held here and we can well understand why officers were so keen to spend 11 months of the year here. The Iar Force Cadets and Defence Archives now occupy the site, hence the security and only guided tours. We made our way to Point Lonsdale where there was ABL. Whilst none of us were particularly interested, seeing as though we had come this far we decided to check it out. There was also a jetty/pier which we traversed just because we could. Lunch was had in Pt Lonsdale at a vey yuppy cafe where the wraps were not that flash. They fueled us home though. Greg left us on the way home to find some socks. Wendy tried to contact work colleagues to no vail and then had a nap. Upon Greg's return, he read whilst Wendy did some stuff on the computer. Pre-dinner drinks were had at the McLeans, with a dinner of smashed veg, steamed greens, salmon and pork steak to follow. A short wander around the park followed with bed not long after.
