Boarded on time for our flt to Sydney and then sat in the plane for over two hours while the engineers tried to resolve a "computer issue". The captain had to shut the whole plan down twice to do that. Not good sitting in a plan without aircon in Dubai, 46deg in the shade!! Finally fixed the problem, well that's what they told us, and announced that we were taking off, but after pulling back from the gate they discovered a new problem so back to the parking bay. ...

Fine and sunny 31-39deg. Thank goodness we didn't go riding around Dubai or even going outside. We both managed a couple of hours sort of sleep, half sitting up in the Emirates Lounge. After a shower and some breakfast we almost felt human again. The joys of international travel. Like everything with Emirates, the Business Class Lounges in Dubai are huge. There are several of them, the one we left from is about 500m long, has six eating points, four shower blocks...
