Walker's Travels in Scandinavia 2017 and others
24km. 14-24deg, fine and sunny with some cloud. Brekkie was far too expensive at this hotel (over A$26 each) so we took it at Maccas this morning. Their bacon, eggs and coffee are ok when there's not a great deal else open. The Boys then hopped on their bikes and headed out to explore some "toys" at the Mercedes Benz and then the Porsche Museums. Stuttgart is blessed by being the home of two of the most iconic rev-head brands on the planet. There's one word that describes the Merc Museum - WOW!!! It's got to be the cleanest, most immaculately maintained and spectacular museum that The Boys have ever seen and will ever see. The paint work and condition of each vehicle was spotless and pristine. A lot of the vehicles were straight off the assembly line and looked like they had never seen a road. The photos speak for themselves but can't capture the size or extent of the place. The Porsche Museum was great too but they've never had the range or the extensive history Merc has experienced. Both museums have a current model section where you can check out prices and range; and dream a little. They are both making inroads into Electric Vehicle technology and it won't be long before most of us will be driving an e-vehicle. The Girls did the Hop-on Hop-off Bus to see the sights of Stuttgart. Mostly took in the older part of the city, the little that survived the extensive WWII bombing anyway. Dinner tonight was at a very nice Thai Eatery (Pad Thai with chicken) at the Main Railway Station. Inexpensive, quick but very clean and nice tasting with wine/beer etc available. Tomorrow the Boys and Girls are back together.
