So we left BA with heavy hearts and headed south, south, south to Ushuaia - the end of the earth. We arrived (very) early to glorious sunshine and gorgeous views...walking along the shore we wondered what all the fuss about the freezing weather was about...and then the wind, rain and snow started and we didn´t wonder anymore! Never complaining about Scottish summers again! But it was really pretty and definitely worth the trip. The rain and wind kept as off the Beagle Channel unfortunatley but, with out thermals on, we made it out to Tierre del Fuego national park for a good trek which got the legs working again! Longest 8km walk we've done...the rain made the track really muddy and we were rambling up and done the hills like you would't believe...poor Heather had to put up with a few wails from me as i skidded about the place in an extremely none glamorous fashion!
We also spent a morning visiting the penguins...aaawww! Very cute.
Stayed in the cutest B&B with the cutest family....Roberto was quick of the mark to fill us with hot tea and cream crackers following our days in the cold and even wanted to wash our boots for us....just like being at home.
