Hola from Cuzco!!!!
Well we got up at 3am this morning (no Kerry did, I couldnt be bothered and woke up at half past!) to get on our way to the airport. The airport rep was useless, she left us standing at check-in wondering what was going on, then the airline confiscated our passports until we paid departure taxes ( which is included in the pre-paid price). I had lost my temper by 4am.
The flight was very smooth however again I blubbered (only for about 2 minutes!). It is weird here I have never travelled on planes which are not full. There were only 15 of us on the plane - the plane could hold about 150 people!!!!! We were about to land when suddenly Kerry saw the runway - it was the oppersite way - I have never flew round a mountain so low, fast or bloody anything. I held on to Kerry with my eyes shut until we hit the ground!!!!
As soon as we landed and was off the plane the air was different. It was extremely cold (about 7 or 8 degrees) and it was very difficult to breathe. We collected our luggage and got dropped off at the hotel. Our rep is brilliant. The sun came out and we realised it was deadly - it would only take 2 or 3 minutes for me to burn however out of the sun its freezing!!!!!
We had our welcome meeting and discussed the trip. I felt light jeaded and my toes were numb, my fingers, hands and wrists also felt really odd. I then laid on my bed for about 2 hours. I started to feel better.
We went out for dinner and had Pizza - again. As we were being served Jeff spotted us (he was on the Galapagos tour with us). he stayed and had a drink and we are going to meet him for tea after the guide briefing.
I cant really say I am looking forward to climbing a bloody mountain but I'll give it a try. In fact I am dreading it!!!!! Cuzco is a massive improvement after Lima!!!!
