We spent a total of 4 days in Shanghai and absolutely loved it!  It was so modern yet still had a real Chinese feel to it!  Our hostel was also the best we have stayed in so far...apart from the guy in our room who slept all day and had handcuffs under his bed...dodgy!  We managed to do alot and the Bund was as cool at night as we had anticipated.  We also went to a cool market.  It is a lot more touristy than Beijing and therefore more expensive to buy food and we had to barter hard.  We really used Shanghai as a bit of a chill out before we hit Oz and now have to look for work.

Our hostel was really centrally based between the Bund and People's square so walked everywhere to save money.  we got to know the Shanghai STA shop pretty well and had drama's trying to change our flights but it eventually got sorted the night before we landed.  Arriving in Oz makes us realise just how cheap China is and I really want to go back one day to see it all again it was that good.  Hopefully then we might actually make it down to Guilin!To get to the airport we went on the famous Maglev train which was awesome and we actually got up to 413km/hr!!!!  Well worth the money!
