Hola! From palenque, Mexico, we got a bus and boat across the border into Flores, Guatemala, basically because that's the only place the buses go. It was pretty pain free and we arrived at Flores in northern Guatemala in the afternoon. Flores is a pretty little island but not too much to do there so we chilled out in a bar all afternoon drinking 60p beer. The next day we got a bus to semuc champey national park down the bumpiest dirt track roads. There we swam in crystal clear waters on top of a waterfall and trekked through the jungle. Then we went through Guatemala City, which looked like a bit of a dive, to Antigua, where we are now. It's a cute little colonial town full of tourists that come to learn spanish, like us. We are doing a spanish course for 40hours this week and living with a family in a big house with 3 other students, 2 of which speak fluent english which is cool. Lots of learning in the day and drinking in the evening....great combination! Off for dinner! xx
