Helen and Dean - Choice, Bro.
So far we have visited 4places in India: Delhi, Jipur, Pushkar and Udaipur (where we are writting this
email from)
The first stop was Delhi. We found this pretty tough going. Its not the nicest city we have ever
visited. In fact its the worst. Amazingly dirty, unbelivable poverty, constant loud noise and so many touts trying to rip you off/get your money/chase you about! Even in the tourist attractions we found ourselves harrased almost constantly. However we were out of there after only 2 night, and frankly pleased to see the
back of the place! However we did enjoy a couple of the site: The lotus temple and the train
journey away were good! ;-)
Next was Jaipur. Here we stayed in a really amazing palace (now a hotel). It had a brillient garden.
Very peacful + relaxing, which was jst what we needed after the inital few days. Also had a vey good restarant.... Yum!
Decided not to go out in Jaipur as we werent feeling to good. We have to go back to Jaipur soon so we can see it then.
We then got a car to a small town called Pushkar where a camel fair was being held. The drivers in India are ther scariest. Many near misses. There are no rules, can't be sure whether they drive on the left or the right here! I was tempted to take the steering whells off the driver!
Arrived in Pushkar, which was quite easy going compared to Delhi. Loads of tourists here. There were around 50,000 camels here. The place was quite dusty!
Next Udaipur, where they filmed James Bond Octop**** They like to play this in the restaurants every night. Nice place! Lots of chanting and I can hear wolves howling at night! Saw elephant walking up the street yesterday!
