Hi All!
We're now in Te Anau, a little township with a population of about 1,500 people in the South of the South Island which is on the edge of the Fjordland National Park. It's the place that everyone comes to do the journey over to Milford Sound (apparantly one of the most stunning places on the planet!). We're off over there in a few days after some rest and relaxation here for 3 days. The weather has finally improved, it's been about 25degs for the last few days and we've made the most of sunbathing and swimming in the lake - although it's freezing in the lake as it's all ice water coming off the snow capped mountains. Before here we were in a lovely secluded place called Curio Bay where we stayed in a great little place that looked out over the bay - stunning. We even got to see some Hectors Dolphins playing in the surf with a guy that was surfing, a few sealions on the beach and some yellow eyed pengiuns nesting in the rocks! Pretty amazing stuff just outside our window! We then spent a few days in Invercargil before going to Stewart Island in a small 10 seater plane, the flight was pretty hairy at times but we got there and back in one piece and had a great time on a very pretty, very quiet island - 85% of it is national park and there's only 380 residents! We then came a bit further inland to Te Anau which is set amongst snow capped mountains on the banks of a huge lake. After here we're on our way back to Queenstown (via Milford Sound) and then on to Christchurch for christmas and new year. I'll get some more piccies on here when we get there.
Hope everyone's well back home and not missing us too much ;0)
Love to all, be cool
