Hello all! It's been a while since we updated this so thought we'd post on here...
We've been really settled in our little apartment with the other staff at Halse Lodge and have spent most of our days either working in the morning or evening, going to the beach, bodyboarding or lounging around doing pretty much nothing ;-) We have a dvd player in the apartment now so we've been watching films, and Luke has occasionally been watching the football at obscure hours!
We've been out a few times... we went to a place called M!NK with a few guys we met in Bundaberg who just happened to turn up outside our lodge one day last week. There's now two Canadian girls working with us, from Toronto, so we went out with them yesterday. We've been finding out info on Canadia (;-) lol) since we're going there eventually.
We've decided to go to Brisbane in a weeks time, we feel like we've seen Noosa and we can't hang around here forever as settled as we have been...We want to see more of Australia and maybe find some other work down the coast somewhere.
We want to try our hand at surfing before we go... as rubbish as i'm going to be at it no doubt! The waves here are HUGE and it's awesome to bodyboard which doesn't involve having to balance! My sense of balance is not the best, we all know that.
We were bodyboarding the other day and Luke went under water for about 20 seconds, a big wave went over his head and spun his board around underneath him...the board went into him and left a nice bruise on his side...I was panicking because I was by the shore and couldn't see him. Those waves can be dangerous!
Our manager has been really good to us...much better than that sodding pair up in Cairns at Reef Backpackers - utterly CRAP! He's been really fair with everything and has even given us free drinks on a few occasions. The bar was free from 8.30 til 10.30 for us to get drinks with the rest of the staff.
We hope when we leave we'll have free drinks on our last night ;-) hahaha.
Liz and Luke-Love (as my Mum calls him! ) xx

Nadezhda - I love those spur of the moment piteurcs; the guys getting surprised by the water at the beach, the girls shoes, the father of the bride with that crazy hilarious expression on his face, the newly married man with tears in his eyes watching och listening to his beatiful bride. Those are the moments that make a wedding. And you nailed it.
