Australia Zoo is amazing!!
We spent the day there today and got to see some amazing animals and creatures! We saw loads of crocodiles, alligators, reptiles, koalas, kangaroos, tazmanian devils, tigers, elephants and the new Africa section where there were Rhinos, giraffes, zebras.and a cheetah which we didn't see! lol.
The Koalas were so cute and sleepy, just cwtching the trees and generally being lazy. We got to stroke one of them which was awesome!
One of them decided to walk across a branch above us and started to take a leak right above me! Luckily I moved out of the way in time! Luke was gutted!
We had lunch in picnic area with Kangaroos just roaming around as they pleased, the one became really interested in us when he realised we had food, and we gave him some grapes! He was jumping up at us like a dog would. They were so lovely and friendly and allowed you to stroke them.
Luke also got bit by an orb spider, whilst at lunch. ;-) Or so everyone thinks! *cough* april fool *cough*.We had fun concocting that one up since we decided to come travelling. Ho ho ho.
We saw a crocodile attack show and bird show which was done by Terri,Bindi and Rob. (Steve Irwin's wife & kids) They showed us how a crocodile will attack it's prey and the lengths it will go to, to make sure whatever it has in its mouth is dead! Although crocodiles are very misunderstood and don't actually go after people, they only tend to kill when it comes to food or defending their territory.
In the Australia's Snakes section we saw some of the most poisonous snakes in Australia (the eastern brown snake and the red belly black snake being at the top of the list...number one being the Fierce snake!) It's scary how these don't look that poisonous, but the fierce snake has enough poison to kill 100 men with one bite! You're pretty lucky if you escape that bite, mate!
After every description of the snake there was a picture of Steve Irwin underneath with the snake, telling a random tale or fact about the snake (or "bloke" as he called them on a few occasions lol) and usually telling you not to mess with them!
We also saw the elephants being fed, which was awesome too and reminded us a lot of being in Thailand!
We're moving on to Brisbane tomorrow, so will update at some point from there i'm sure! Thought it was easier to put on our blog location that we were in Brisbane now though, saves updating it. Lets hope we get there now and there's no more tornados or floods! :-P
Love you all xxxx
