Sydney on the 30/12/12 and the four became six - We all met in the Belgian Heritage Café, suggested by Al & Sari, it was Mr Hornsby's birthday and he treated all to a meal and refreshment (dammed decent fellow). The second night was New Year's Eve (the main event) and the six of us assembled in Nick's seafood restaurant and had an excellent night of eating, drinking and partying into 2013 - It turned out to be another free meal because Dan's brother Kevin and his better half Michelle decided to pay for Heather and Dan as a sixtieth birthday present - Who said there is no such thing as a free dinner?
On New Year's day the trusty six, all met at Dan & Heather's accommodation (a Youth Hostel?) and cracked about five bottles of "Fizz" on their rooftop which overlooked the Opera House and the Bridge, before moving on to an Italian restaurant on circular quay and finishing the night off.
Next day we were alone; the other two couples had gone their separate ways and the buzz of lively company had dissipated …. Our remaining time in Sydney saw us ticking off the tourist list - Brunch at the Fish Market, the Bridge, Bondi Beach and roaming around the rocks area. Our final evening was spent in the Opera Bar quaffing a moderately expensive wine and wishing a sad farewell to Sydney and the absent friends who shared it with us.
