Buen Dias!!

So we made it! After a bloody long flight (kierans hand is squished) we arrived in sunny Rio to sweltering heat and freezing cold beer and so we have decided in actual fact that we may stay here and never come home!!! Only kidding!!!

The hostel is lovely and our host Patricia has really clued us up on where to go and what to do. We wandered into Catete (the local town) and found places like this internet cafe, the metro, and beer! Had a lovely meal then went to bed on the first night.

The second day we woke up very early (we are two hours behind you) and caught the metro to Copacobana, walked along the white beach and shared a coconut on the promonade. Because of the crime in this area we have only taken out a disposable camera so there are no photos till we get home. That night we sat on the roof of the hostel (see pic) drinking beer and watching Rio by night while listening to a salsa band. Had a group drinking session in the hostel with fellow Brit travellers who we have made friends with.

Its raining today and is forecasted to all week but it is still +33 in the shade!!!!!!!!!!! We are going to the street carnival on Saturday in Ipanema so watch this space....
