Hey All,
As many of you probably no we are now in Sydney, We came here on the 18th for 2 weeks to be here for Xmas and new year. We are staying in a 10 bed dorm in a hostel which is different for us but everyone in our room are good people so it has made the hostel life really good fun.
All was pretty good, For Christmas eve we went on a boat cruise which wasn't so good and it chucked it down with rain for the first time while we were in Sydney so between that and the very bad organizing Xmas eve was pretty rubbish. Christmas day was abit better, it was still raining so our plans to go to bondi beech didn't happen so we ended up going to play lazertag on Christmas day followed by a Xmas dinner at pizza hut!.
New years eve we went to Mrs Macquarie point that is part of royal botanic gardens which is huge beautiful park next to Sydney opera house. We got there at 3pm and sat and waited till 12 for the fireworks as it was stupidly busy, think there was around 17000 people there and it was hard to get a good spot as some people had been queuing outside since 6am. Overall the fireworks were amazing! best we have every seen and we have already decided we will be back next year with a perfect spot to watch them.
Anyways hope everyone had a great Christmas and new year, we were thinking of you all :).
Tomorrow night is our last night in Sydney before we head back up to Byron bay to carry out our last 2 weeks of farm work to qualify for our 2nd year visa. We are going to be staying with a family on there 100acre land and working for them without pay but getting food and accommodation for free :).
Hopefully get some photos up soon of Xmas/new year and place called the blue mountains which is a national park we went to while we were here.
That is all for now,
Joe&Emma
