Hi All,

Last weekend we were off to Madrid - where the weather was so much warmer than it is here right now!! We met up with Georgia over there - ans spent the weekend sightseeing, eating and drinking. This was probably the first place we have been to where hardly anyone spoke english, which made it slightly difficult - especially when the food smelt and looked so good on other peoples plates - so you would guess what it was in spanish on the menu - and then something horrible would turn up!! That was the worst! Public transport was awesome tho - and there were buskers everywhere to entertain.

On Saturday morning we got up super early and took a bus tour of the city, went to the Prado art gallery which is one of the biggest in the world, some pretty wicked paintings there! We looked around heaps of other sights, including a massive palace - everything was so cool inside - but you were never allowed cameras which was dumb, so not many photos got taken on this trip! Saturday night was halloween - and dam near everyone was dressed up - and some people looked amazing! We were on the cocktails pretty early, in order to be able to catch the last train home - I doubt a taxi driver would have been able to understand us!

Sunday morning we went to the markets - good thing we got there early, as by lunch time you could hardly move!! In the afternoon we decided to catch a train out to El Escorial - about and hour train trip from Madrid! Again this was difficult as we had to work out the spanish train schedule ourselves, and missed the first train - but we made it in the end!! Was cool to see some hills and spanish country side - although it was rather barron!!

We flew back to England late that night, which made it a struggle to get up for work the next day!

We are away back to Paris next weekend for a 3 day weekend - which should be fun! Hope to get to Disney Land there.
