G'day mates!! - after 24 hours of traveling my little socks off I'm finally in Sydney, AUSTRALIA! - can you tell i'm excited?
But before all that I've got to rewind for a bit to Singapore to tell you what I got up to in my three days there (apart from shopping). So on my sight seeing day I decided to take a walk into the Colonial District and see the famous Raffle's hotel. Then I walked around the Quay near the Singapore river and sighed at all the cute little cafes on the riverside. Then I had some yummy lunch in one said cute cafe. After that I trotted along to the Asian Civilisations museum - very very very interesting especially the bits about China. I took a photo of the winning rubber ducky from the Million Dollar Duck Race down the Singapore river in 2002! I also met about 100 plus children in there on a school trip which made me sad! I miss teaching :( Funniest thing was seeing them all on their lunch break - the teachers had bought each and every one of them a burger and fries from Maccy D's! Then I went into the CBD and Chinatown to explore. The CBD was chocks full of people (as you would expect) and had such an amazing skyline. Chinatown was awesome too and I bought lots of tacky souvenirs!
That evening I took a trip out to Singapore zoo where I went on the Night Safari - definately a highlight! Really really interesting to see all the animals at night. You can take off by yourself onto little trails around the zoo to get up close to the animals and I had some little Asian otters come and talk to me! I saw some beeeautiful Tigers and equally beeeautiful Hippos! A must if you ever come to Singa pura!
Then on my last day there I hunted down the nearest Toni and Guy and went to have my hair chopped which made me feel a million dollars. AND I spent a rather nice afternoon with a Mr Daniel Craig as I went to see the new Bond movie. Then there was just about time for me to hop on a plane again to Darwin, then to Cairns and then to Sydney! Phew! I could write a book on all the airports I've seen now.
Just got here in Sydney tonight so trying to settle in before I go up the East coast on another little adventure....
