Ok so Singapore.......
Unfortunately i fell ill on our last night in Kuala which meant being in such a small room Dave didn't get much sleep either :-( Again even though a short flight it took up most of the day so it was late evening when we got to our hotel which was by far better then our previous hostel (decided on a hotel this time around!) it had a TV - but not that we needed it, our hotel was in the middle of the red light district so we spent most of our little time in the room looking at the goings on!
As soon as we arrived we went to the Singapore Flyer (basically like the Big Wheel in London only this one is biggest in the world) - which was good as we got to see some panoramic views. There's lots to do but we decided to go to the Singapore Zoo the following day - i still wasn't feeling so good but we continued (only there once!) and managed to watch the crocodile/komodo dragon and polar bear feeding - this zoo also has manatees which i haven't seen since Florida - i do love a manatee! That night we booked ourselves onto the night safari - we wasn't going to as we've done Africa but have heard some good things so thought we'd take a look. Like most of our trip lots of queues but Singapore is famous for its organisation so didn't take long to get on the night safari tram. We went around and saw an Asian Rhino - neither of us had heard of them until now but you can clearly tell the difference between the types - after the tram we went into the walk in bat part and would you believe it - a bat s*** on me!!! Who does that happen too!!! Again Dave found it very amusing and this time said i was lucky as it didn't land on my head!!
We was both knackered and unfortunately Dave fell ill that night (teach him to mock me for the bat s***!) and i was still feeling rough still too but it was our last day so we continued to make the most of it and went to Sentosa island - there was so much to do there but we narrowed it down to the Aquarium, insect and butterfly park and 'Songs of the Sea - recommend by a Miss Pop Taylor! even though the first two were on the must do list of the park we weren't that impressed and thought the insect and butterfly park was rubbish, the aquarium also included entry into the pink dolphins which also hosts a seal show - wasn't a lover of this and walked out - we then had a 3 hour wait for the songs of the sea show so hired a double deck chair and slept down by the sentosa beach - by the time we both woke up we were feeling much better and went to grab our seats for the show - Lauren we was impressed so well done on recommendation - was a little more for children (explains it!) but good all the same - certainly the best thing we done at the park all day.
On our way back we stopped off at the Singapore Hotel and ordered a Singapore sling 24 dollars but got to be done ;-) - was rank tho!!
We then headed back to the hotel to pack - watched a bit of the red light district goings on ready to catch our early flight to Oz!!!
