We checked out of our hostel in Hong Kong and made our way over to the Hong Kong island to a place called Happy Valley where Jane lives. It was boiling hot so were relieved we had no problems getting there we caught the Metro to Hong Kong Island and then a tram which dropped us just at the bottom of her street next to The Happy Vallev Racecource the only horse racing course in the world positioned in the city, it was surrounded by dozens of high rise buildings
Happy Valley is a nice area and Janes apartment was on the top floor of a small building it was nice. We got sorted and she took us to Times Square which I'm not sure if it is named after the New York Times Square but it was huge with a shopping mall there aswell. We went through a fish and meat market there was hundereds of fresh fish stalls the fish were cut open but you could still see them breathing! Some of the fishmongers showed us this head which had been cut off a massive fish and it was still moving ,inside and out ,gross! We then made our way to a place called Stanley as she was meeting up with some friends that were on business over from Florida. The bus drive to Stanley was beautiful you head to the beach and when we arrived we could not believe we were still in Hong Kong there was a beach and lots of lovely restaurants and pubs. We went round stanley market much to Joes joy more shopping! Its a famous market and you can get some really great stuff really cheap had to stop myself buying anything as I would not be able fit it in my bag!
We met up with some friends of Janes who were celebrating a birthday ended up having a great night the guys from Florida were great fun and we all went for dinner together they have given us loads of good advice for when we are in America. We got in about half three after a kebab on the way we had a great nights sleep. Big thanks to Jane we would not have seen that side of Hong Kong if we had not met with her. We caught the bus ready to get to the airport heading for Vietnam.
