Curry in no hurry
Melbourne, Victoria
After a late start this morning, Sarah, Layla and myself decided (with much deliberation) to be proactive, rent a car and explore the beaches and areas outside of Melbourne. We arrived at the car hire garage and lo and behold its shut.. plan for the day out the window then! This was disppointing as we had all hyped ourselves up to rent the car and go and see new things. In retaliation we spent the next few hours on the beach in st Kilda and then decided to head into the centre of Melbourne for dinner. I had been recommended (and had read in Lonely Planet) about this curry house, Red Pepper, that did cheap yet delicious curries, and seeing as we all were pretty sick of pizza, I steered us in its direction. The food was delicious, the restaurant busy but not so busy the staff couldn't handle it and our mexican waiter pretty easy on the eyes. We each had curry, papadums, naans and rice and it was all incredibly tasty. Full we most definitely were! The meal was made even better by the fact that our bill ended up being $20 less then it should have been.. we left a big tip for the waiter because of this! I would recommend this restuarant to anyone, great athmosphere, fabulous food and the best mango lassi I've ever had.
