I only had a day trip planned for the Whitsundays as I couldnt afford the 3 day, it was a bit annoying because all my friends I was with were all going to the 3 day trip on the same day! :(

The day I woke up for my trip it was actually pissing it down with rain. I wasnt impressed, called the company to see if it was still happening and it was. I made some food for lunch and left in the pouring rain to the pick up point. I got chatting to a German girl and after some queing we went on board. The boat was really nice, plenty of room although as the weather sucked everyone sat inside. I lost all hope of it being a good day when another German couple were on and they all started talking German around me, I was stuck between them all and couldnt get out, nor could I understand anything, it was raining and I was in such a bad mood. Luckily one of them moved and I made my escape. I didnt realise this boat supplied food all day, and there were big vats of tea and coffee as well as loads of biscuits so I stood there for a while. The rain eased so I could look at the scenery, which wasnt great and then as we pulled up to the beach, the sun was out! yey! Also they announced that the drinks 'esky's' (cool boxes) were open. Little did I know that we got free alcohol all day! amazing! So at ten thirty I had some wine! It was Whitehaven beach, which is amazing. The nicest sand ever, didnt even feel like sand. The 2 British girls were more concerned with strutting around in their bikinis and taking photos than talking to anyone so I sat there on my own haha. But then got chatting to 2 Aussie guys, thank god! Then as we got on board food was ready, a bbq..it was so nice! There was loooads of food and not just stinky Aussie beef sausages, but chicken, steak, etc etc. And loads of salad, pasta..yum! Being a poor deprived backpacker I had 3 helpings! And continued to drink wine with the Aussie guys, why I think I can keep up with them I will never know!

They stopped for a snorkel break, but I am not a fan of snorkling, I did try it again in Phi Phi, Thailand but didnt like it. So one of the aussies got off to do it but me and the other one just laid in the sun and drank...the day had got sooo much better at this point! Whitsundays was really really pretty, but the weather spoilt the first bit of the day, but I still got to see everything, had free food, drink and a tan so it was a pretty good day! :) I got back and tried to sober myself up with a shower- fail!! Then just went out with Hayley, Jess and Adam! I left the next day for Magnetic Island, which wasnt so nice with the hangover! On the bus I bumped into a girl I had met at Rainbow beach so we did the bus/ boat/ bus trip together!
