This baker gets up at 11pm and bakes through the night using a wood and also an electric oven. The wood oven gives the loaves a different look as well as taste so are a tiny bit more money. He makes and sells 200 loaves and 300 baguettes a day.

Apparently croissants came over from Austria. Mary Antoinette wife of king Louis XVI brought them to France.

This is how pain au chocolat is made. Sticks of chocolate a bit like a matchmakers are rolled into dough. Hmm yummy

Apparently If a croissant is curled it is made with margarine. When straight they are made with butter.

This was a very interesting place and man. He showed us how he layers butter or margarine into the dough to make croissants.
