Following a 12hour sleep, in which Stefan & Emily managed to get up and go out for breakfast again, I was feeling slightly better. Still not back to top form for birthday travelling. But it was my birthday and I was not going to be defeated. After a round the houses Uber in which conversation was almost none existent, due to energy levels throughout the group. We arrived with plenty of time at the airport how very un-American.
Once the clock hit noon I came up with the plan of having a beer in 3 different states all in one day.
First stop was a replica of the French market for a Louisiana bottled ale known as an Andygator. The woman working hadn't been much help. When I asked for a local beer she suggested a Budweiser. So the Andygator was very much a punt. It was spot on. Though when I checked over the bottle it was 8%. Probably not the best way to start your day. Today was about quality over quantity though. Our first flight was slightly delayed but nothing quite like the La Guardia fiasco. Not the smoothest of flights again. This time the cabin crew were only allowed out there seats for 20mins of the 1hour 35minute flight. The time we actually were at cruising altitude. I was grateful of my early night previously. I wudnt have liked to have been bumped around on a dodgy stomach.
Touchdown in Nashville we did & as soon as we had I wished we had a day to explore. As soon as we exited the gate there was a woman playing country music in a bar.
We walked around the concourse to grab some faster tasty food. We managed to sit near another bar where a gent belted out flying with out wings followed by a Jonny Cash number.
With limited time Stefan joined me in a local beer kiosk. We each tried two different beers that we took to the gate. Where the seats had drink holders built in!
We took off to La Guardia just 25minutes behind schedule coming into land just after 19:00 local time. I decided to treat myself with a margarita on the plane. I can always have a lazy day 2mora. How often will I be flying between Nashville and New York on my birthday!
After waiting in the crowds of cars for our cab, we made it back to Emily's car, & we're back in the apartment by 21:00.
Instead of heading out quite sensibly opted for a Moscow Mule that Stefan prepared himself, & some TV.
After which I watched another remake of a sci fi Classic. This time Terminator underwent the treatment & it was a very good standalone film in its own right. However it does show that Hollywood is running out of ideas, & rehashing old classics seems to be standard form now.
