On the 24th We boarded the overnight train from Bangkok on our way to Khao Sok. It was a very strange experiance!! We had some dinner on the train about 8pm then went down to the 'disco carriage' which was basically a carriage with a bar, music , disco lights and lady boys!! Very funny. The train was delayed due to an accident further up on the track so what should have been 12 hrs was actually 16 hrs!! In Khao Sok we were staying in bungalows on stilts right in the middle of the jungle which was amazing but also very scary. We ended up sharing with spiders, snakes, lizards, toads and monkeys!! On the day we arrived we all went river tubing which is basically going down the river in a rubber ring. It was great fun untill one of the Thai guides through a toad at us!! On the second day we went elephant trekking which was an amazing experience, they took us through the rainforest which was beautiful. At the bungalows there was no hot water and not much electricity so it was very different!! In the afternoon we all went for a walk and then we all went for an 'Aussie BBQ' which wasn't Aussie at all but was still very nice. We had to have a few drinks so that we could sleep as the first night was hard as I was so worried about being eaten by something. We have just arrived in Krabi, as it is Kat's bday we are all going for something to eat and a few drinks. I have had a nice hot showere and washed my hair finally so am feeling a bit more human.
