Hannah's Great Adventure
Our 2-week tour of Rajasthan
Delhi, Agra (Taj Mahal), Ranthambore (National Park), Jaipur, Pushcar (camel fair), Jodphur, Ranakpur, Udaipur.
Yesterday we arrived in Jodphur (the home to 'jodhpurs' believe it or not), this morning we ventured to the top of the hill shadowing Jodphur to take in the amazing views of 'Blue City'. All the buildings are painted blue to keep them cool and detour mosquitoes. Tomorrow we head to Ranakpur, which wasn't in the initial plan, but our driver has recommended we stop there. According to him Ranakpur is a small luscious haven in the middle of the desert. Following Ranakpur we head to Udaipur, from Udaipur we catch a train to Mumbai via Ahmedabad, which takes an astonishing 18 hours! We had planned to then spend a week or so exploring Mumbai but I have just discovered that my friend Alex is arriving in Goa on Thursday, so as soon as we arrive in Mumbai I'm going to travel down to Goa by myself to meet him. Another short train journey of 12 hours. So all in all I have a pretty hectic week ahead of me, by the time I reach Goa all I'll be fit for is sleeping on the beach - oh what a life!!!
Not much to report on what we've been up to. Obviously we are all trying to stick to a pretty tight budget. We've set ourselves the challenge of spending just 100 Rupees for an evening meal for 4, which is about £1.60. Last night we found a shop that sold cheese, so we were all very excited.
