After a 12 hour bus journey, hours of waiting around, and a four hour boat trip, we arrived in Ko Phangan. Marita and I were staying the north of the island, but in totally different places, so arranged to meet later in town. My trip to Central Cottages was RIDICULOUS! It took over an hour and was the bumpiest road. I arrived and was the only one there I could see, so started to be abit concerned. Then saw 3 guys from the bus - Jamie from Sydney, Victor an African guy and Andy from Canada. We all investigated and vowed to stick toegther - and what a good choice it was. We partied so hard together on the first night - we started at 6.30pm, and were still going at 9am. Fantastic. All went back to ours and brought the gorgeous Josh and Nick with us - and all passed on our a private beach - the perfect day. Hung around with Josh all day and swam in the sea - it was like a warm bath! Jamie and Josh are both fantastic - really enjoy hanging out with them, and also Marita came along - brilliant!
Spent the next day recovering, and then it was time for full moon!! Oh my god - all the stories you hear about full moon are real - it is mental. Its got sod all to do with a moon as far as our night was concerned, but more about getting a load of very cool people on a beach together, feeding them buckets of Samsung and seeing what happens. About 2 hours into the night, Marita and I went for a wander round and met two Ozzy guys. Then one fo them decided to pick me up and throw me in the sea fully clothed. He dunked my head completely underwater, and then did it again! I was NOT laughing. (I lost my bucket aswel, but on reflection, this was probabaly a good thing). However, I mananged to power through, and eventually dried off and carried on like the trooper that I am. We were still partying at 11am the next day, so decided to go back. We had lost about 4 of our group by this point, but we just had to go. We spent the whole of the next day (about 15 of us) just sat drinking and eating at Central Cottage whilst slowly everyone made their way back. Everyone had lost at least one thing. I was a pair of flip-flops and my sunglasses down, but that was a good result compared to others!
Central Cottage had its faults, but it also was brilliant - we all stuck together, and its where I met the fabulous Jen and Clare. They were travelling together and doing a really similar trip to me. None of us had plans for after Ko Phagnan, so we decided to take Andy and Alex (two fairly annoying but very funny Ozzy guys) and go to Phi Phi. We had one more day on Phagnan and spent this on scooters riding around and climbing a gorgeous waterfall.
