PERU!!!Sadly the time had to come to leave Bolivia, but fortunately for us the next destination was Peru, so we coped OK with it.The first stop for us in Peru was a place called Puno. Puno is not great!I know that's not nice to say, but its true. Puno is abit like Cambodia, but slightly less hectic and with less charm. They even have their version of tuk-tuks.It is a pretty rundown town, with many half built houses and some crazy scary markets selling everything! The main attraction in Puno is its location on Lake Titicaca and the access from here to the floating islands. These are a pretty spectacular experience, but most people are correct in their complaints of them being ridiculously touristy. You go out on a boat, and visit two of the approximate 44 islands. You sit down with the people and the guide explains about the village, and how it is made, and how the people live on island made solely of reeds. It is very cool and very interesting to see. The people are fabulous, and we all bought something, and paid the 5 soles to go over to the other island in a boat made of reeds. That is pretty much all Puno has to offer, and was annoyingly the destination for Claudia's birthday. We had a nice meal with some girlies we met and stayed in a nice hotel, but saved our partying for Cuzco.
