Touched down in Phuket yesterday at 9.00pm (thai time - clocks are 7 hours forward, one hour back from malaysia). We didnt organise a hostel or transport from airport,was fine though because soon as we landed there was travel agencies trying to persuade us to stay at there chosen hotel, didnt do that as its best to walk into a hotel so you get there rates.

We finally found a mini bus that drove us to Phuket beach, i was abit nervous as it was dark and we still needed to find a place to stay!!. It took 45 mins to get to there. We wondered for abit, its so busy here full up with tourist (mainly men, some even on there own!).

We eventually found our hotel which is called The Merrison Inn , its in a street about 5 mins from the beach, for all of you worrying about us, dont , we are on the tsumnami escape route!! haha. The rooms are soooo nice, the beds are HUGE!!(although i did accidently drown a cocroach this morning with my shower water!). When the receptionist took my passport he didnt think it was me, he said i looked asian which mark thought was very funny.

So anyway we decided to take a look around last night..........and OMG(sorry for my dramaticness in advance), we came to the strip, it is full with bars,clubs,pingpong nights, pole dancing and much more explicit things that if i tell you id probably be taken off this site!!. In every bar there are girls on the tables or next to a man performing moves you dont even want to know about!. The bar girls pull you in and sit you down and flirt basically (yes with me too), they get you a drink but expect a tip which is annoying when you dont have much money.

Mark left me as he needed the toilet - i felt so vunerable! (thought that maybe someone would think i was a thai girl), Two minutes into being left alone an old scottish man came up to me and started talking very slowly and stared to make hand gestures so i could understand him! haha.

Anyway we have just had our first breakfast whilst away, we had eggs, bacon, chicken sausage,and toast. i ate mine before mark had even started-i could eat another one actually.

We have to be out of our room at midday today, so we need to find another hostel. then we are going to hit the beech! and catch some rays!.
