KIA ORA
So we have been in New Zealand for a weeks now! its AMAZING. i love it . We have been to so many different places we are getting up at 6.00am most mornings, then getting on to our coach and moving on!. fist stop was the top bit which is called bay of islands the hostel was so clean ( all the hostels are 100% nicer than australia and cheaper- think australia hates us backpackers!) we went to Cape Rienga where we sand boarded which was realy fun but sand literally went everywhere!. Then i got onto ANOTHER boat (im sure i said never again!) to swim with dolphins - in theaoty this sounds easy but actually catching up with wild dolphins is harder than it sounds!, Mark was straight in and had dolphin swimming around him, but i couldnt keep up with them!.
I think England would look like this if we threw out 55 million people!! New Zealand has a population of 4.5 million people and its so much nicer! everywhere is green, clean and happy. The weather has been great! really hot. on Tuesday we went to hot water beach, you dig holes in the sand and the water is boiling! some of it actually does bubble so you have to mix it with the cold sea water its so weird!there was a crazy local man in wellies digging a hole, dont know what he was going to do with the water, maybe boil some food.
We went black water rafting ABYSS OMG it was the best most exciting thing iv ever done - im scared of everything. We abssailed down a cave god know how youd do it if you are fat, my back was scraping down the side of the rock, well untill i realised i had to turn round and use my feet!. The we swung furthur down which was kind of fun but i felt like my heart was about to eat my body because it was so dark. THEN we had to jump into the river, the water was freezing! but the glow worms were incredible. we also climbed up two waterfalls!. mum i hope you are proud of me because i did that for you!!.
Yesterday we were in Rotorua which is where all the thermal spas are. the place itself is really nice smells of eggs and the drains bubble!, there are mud pools, and water geyzers everywhere, apparently the council have to round every morning to check that no new water holes have formed because of the heat they would just burn right through your shoe!. We went to a spa and had our own private pool for half an hour which was SOOO nice and relaxing, the water is 38.5 degrees and its so soothing apparently it cured a preist who had arthritis!.
Then last night we went to a mauri experience where you learn all about their culture, and have a huge buffet that is cooked under the ground! we both ate so much, i had four desserts!!.
We are in Taupo now just about to walk to a volcano then onto a hot spring!! wahoo.
Gotta love and leave you! xxxxxx
