This morning was bright, sunny and cold, but we left Ponchartrain Landing in New Orleans at about 9:00 am. We had to get through 2 bridges to get back to the ICW. We actually got in touch with the Danziger Bridge on the first try which was a switch from when we arrived. We got through in record time, but then we called the L&N Bridge and the bridge tender said it would 25-30 minutes. Think we only had to wait 20. We were lucky. We were then on our way. Not much traffic. A few barges and that was it. We arrived at Rabbit Island around 2:00 pm. After we anchored we did some cleaning that we were unable to do in New Orleans as the weather was the pits. After cleaning we relaxed and enjoyed the site. We saw an otter, and two new birds, a dovekie and a rough legged hawk. The anchorage was well protected and we had a wonderful wind free night.
