Over The Top
We found the best Billabong (approx 20km west of Georgetown) of our trip we even had a front row seat at the waters edge. It was originally the site of a crushing plant for Gold. The only thing left of the plant is a chimney from the plant, Cumberland historic site. The chimney was built by Cornishmen from the old country. The water surface was covered by white and gold water lillies and was the size of approx 3 sports stadiums. The roads are typical outback with a 3 meter strip of bitumen
