Over The Top
Departed Kununurra on Tuesday with plan for a couple of stops on the way to Katherine. BUT saw a sign to Lake Argyle seemed off the beaten track so we were glad to have taken this route, it's fantastic the lake or inland sea is surrounded by mountains so you can't see it. There was a great c/park there. We booked a cruise which lasted till after sunset, the lake is over 50km long by 40km wide. The lake is part of the catchment area for the Argyle Dam built in 1972 and provides power to the Argyle Diamond mine and irrigation to the surrounding area. Treated ourselves to fish and chips, the first since leaving Perth.
