Guangzhou's other name is a Goat City. It comes from the fact that long time ago, at the time of famine, there came many people to Guangzhou from abroad and brought goats with them. During the whole trip, goats had carried rice-ears in their teeth. When the goats started to eat grass in the pasture, accidentally seeded the ground, and so the rice fields began to grow and the people rescued from hunger.
