We were up at 7am today - the intrepid half of our group had already set off for a hard trek to the pinnacles. We chose to do the trek that was in our itinerary and follow the kerangas trail. The wilder part of our adventure started today. Our day packs laden with all our belongings needed for the next 2 days - including 3 litres of water each, so it got pretty heavy. Setting off in oxbow longboats we headed upriver stopping briefly at a local village, then on to some caves. Arrived at Mulu in a little twin prop plane - just 50 minutes from Miri. The camp isn't nearly as basic as we expected and we even have electricity and hot running water.
