Hey guys,
Have had an interesting week since I last wrote. Finally left Rome, the poor campsite, some of the boys really went crazy there! Once again, they were pleased to see the end of us!
Headed down the coast for a few quiet days. Went to Pompei which is a city that was burried in ash from a massive volcano (MT Vesubius) and they have uncovered it. The city was built before chirst so was pretty amazing! They had everything from Pizza places to Prostitution! We know this becuase there are pictures still up on the walls! Rather rude too some of them I might add!
Caught a ferry over to an Island (Ischia) for one night and we all splashed out on a motel. Was fantastic! Massive beds and a thermal pool! We loved it! And everyone was very mature and well behaved. Was a really busy island though so not much room on the beach!
The next night on the way to Bari we had to free camp on the side of the road again. On tarseal in a carpark. Was better than the last place because no one could really get to us off the motorway. However the motorway was right beside us. I know this doesnt really make sence, but it does...Managed to cook up a big feed for 9 people of mashed spuds and pork and chicken too! Anton had lots to eat too Brit!
Caught our huge ferry to Greece, took 18 hours. Was a floating city! Had a pool, restaurents, bars, everything! We found a grocery store before boarding that sold bottles of vodka for 4 euro and managed to buy them out, so we drank that o the ferry too. We were allowed to sleep in our van, which meant a not sleeping on the deck. We had enough room to put up the airbeds out side which was going to be good until Gregor got ours out and realised he left our bung at the last place we stayed!!!!! I took the couch, off course.
Drove to Athens today and now waiting to catch our next ferry over to Ios. Picked up two Aussie girls off the ferry and gave them a ride here, were really nice girls but once again I think the boys have scared them away too...
Our ferry doesnt leave till midnight so a long night ahead of us. Arrives at 11am tomorrow morning. Then the fun will begin again at Ios!!! Cant wait!!
