After leaving beautiful Taormina, we got on to the Autostrada and headed for Cefalu (Chefaloo). This way, we could avoid the horrid traffic of Messina that we had encountered on our first day in Sicily. This road was amazing. Not sure how many bridges and tunnels we went through but Kerrie had cramp in her arms from opening and closing Greg's helmet visor! After a make and mend day in Athens doing the washing, sitting in Syntagma Square watching the world go by and enjoying another couple of Fix beers we headed off to Patras to catch the ferry to Brindisi, Italy. Thursday 9th April and Kerrie’s dad, Darcy’s birthday – he would have been 97 today. It is also our first day on the bike for this trip. When we left Greece in 2011, as we sailed out of Patras on the ferry we said goodbye to Greece as we thought there was very little chance that we would have the opportunity to return.
