Sorry that its been ages since we last updated our blog, but have been non stop travelling australia!
Hope its worth it though!
Sunday 18th april. The end of Laos and all of Vietnam
Went to the museum yesturday! Forgot to have mentioned that, it was in a huge french building, there were tons of buddas that had been found in caves. Loads of photos of the war too, it was interesting, to me – grant just walked straight passed everything just to get to the fans to cool down by. Bless! Stopped by a bowling hall, it was so cheap we couldn’t believe it! It also had a pool hall, so grant was in his oils!
Sat, waiting for our pick up bus to Hanoi, we’ve been here longer than we wanted to have stayed. Got our visas sorted for vietnam. Ate too much pizza, watched too many films too whilst being here! And played too many games of pool and bowling, ive had enough of winning…NOT!
Thursday 22nd. Horn Wars (writing this on deck on board of the asia cruise ship)
30 minutes late, our bus (well what should have been a bus) our huge tuktuk arrives. There was absolutly no room for and our luggage, but we managed to get on, plus pick up another 4 people and their luggage too! Crazy! A 40 minute ride later and we get to the station, waiting to get on the sleeping bus just stood around was the longest 30 minutes ever! Then a young lad started showing everyone to their seats…well – beds! They were leather seats – pushed back!!! Yes that’s right leather seats – they were a nightmare when your whole boy is tacky ad sweaty and you get stuck all the time and everytime you move it sounds like your farting! Swear – total nightmare and mortyfying! Grant got upper dec, where he was located inbetween two guys, me – well I was shouted at as I hesitated to crawl under into my bed. I was sleeping next to two lads…ntill the one lad offered to swap with grant. Not so long after, everyone was settled and we were off! It was rediculous, no lights to read, the air con wasn’t that good and everyone was crammed next to one another. PLUS!!! EVERY TWO SECONDS, THE DRIVER WOULD HONK HIS HORN TO THE OTHER VEHICLES. It drove us crazy!every other vehicle that passed honked too which made things worse, it was like the drivers where in a honking war!
2 hours into our horrific journey, we stopped for grub. An old man sat next to grant and rudley ate with his mouth open, slurped and chewed rather loudly! It was descusting! Back on the bus we got and not too sure how long after driving we stopped somwhere – waking up in the morning I hear something going on outside. Then a men comes on the bus and tells us that theres a problem and we all need to get off! It was 6am, everyone had just woke up and we’re made to all sit in a little crappy café waiting for the bus to be fixed! An hour after lounging around tired, restless and hungry we’re back on track! Crossed the boarder and here we go – “GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!!!” although there was nothing at all good about our morning. Not so long into our journey in Vietnam and Whoops…thee goes our tire!!! IT BURST!!! Making the bus swerve. We had to drive (5 miles per hour) to the nearest place to get it replaced. Once again, we were back on the road…wait for it…nearly arriving to Hanoi and we thought another tire had burst but nooooo…apparently we hit someone, a taxi driver someone said?!?! so that took some time sorting out. Not long after our 9 hour bus ride we stopped – in a dark and quiet street. A guy gets on telling everyone that he will take you to any hotel for a dollar, after reading up on a scam ona piece of paper that was passed around the bus – everyone gets off the bus and hops straight onto his minivan…FOOLS! We get back onto the bus where it then dropped us off at the actual bus station! We share a taxi with two english lads in a 15 minute ride to the backpackers alley, we get ripped off big time by the taxi driver who tried chargin us nearly thirty pounds!?!? We chucked roughly twenty to him and said that’s all!!! 10pm we finally check into a nice room down a tiny alley way packed with guesthouses – off we set out for something to eat and on the way back we decide to book a trip to Ha Long Bay! It was so cheap, a night on a ship, a tour around the islands, a night on a private beach in a beach hut and a trip to monkey island.
7am in the morning we get up and are picked up. It took us 3 hours to get to the harbour. Then an hour on the ship where we visited the caves! Our guide was quite a joke! Instead of feeding us information on facts of the caves he was pointing out with a bloody laser rocks that were shaped in the form of different animals. Me and grant had enough after a while so walked on infront of everyone.
After our intersting cave tour we went kayaking around the floating villages! Which was gobsmacking as to how they live like they do! They had a little floating home for dogs which we couldn’t wor out if they were pets or if they were being kept their as meals??? Back on ship, we stopped at a point where everyone could jump of. When grant found out that we could do so there was no hesitation, straight off top deck he jumped!!! We had an evening meal later on and then were all offered free foot massages. It was amazing, really relaxing until the lady started pulling my toes out of ther sockets. Lol. It was awquard, I couldn’t really say anything to make her stop, even though if I did she probably wouldn’t have understood! GOD IT HURT!
Couples retreat!
The next day we set out to Cat Ba Island. We took a trek up a mountain to a watch tower. It took us 2 hours to get up to the top! It was more like rock climbing than trekking! We got to the top – then had to climb this rusty old watch tower. It was so scary (as you’ll see in the photos). Got a couple of quick snaps then rushed back down. The vietmease girl who was on our tour gave me a vietmese fruit! It was weird looking but real tasty (forgot what it was called, sorry). After our tiring trek we left the harbour on a tiny boat where a rather loopy guy (drunk) took us to monkey island! We arrived at our own private beach – just the 8 of us! A vietnamease/french couple – olivia and Nguyet, a couple from newzealand – Kylie and Kyle, a french guy and a lady Elna from South Africa and us! We checked into our huts (which were so lush) it was perfect, the beach even had…a pool table on – grant was in heaven!!! We had a fantastic view from our hut – there was palm trees, kayaking, volley ball, pool, sunloungers, badminton…it was like that film couples retreat. Lol. After having lunch we set out for another little trek across to the actual monkey island beach – where we got to see tons of monkeys playing! They were quite entertaining, playing hide and seek with one another. Then followed us as Nguyet had pringles and they were after them. Returned to “our beach’ lol where we had a couple of hours to pass before dinner. So we decided to take out a kayake. Grant put his whole body weight on the one side toppling us both into the water. It was histerical, you should have seen us – we looked like dumb and dumber! We paddled over to one of the island and touched it! It was really far out. When we made it back we had a swim in the sea. Played a little pool until it become too dark to see the balls then had what thee most amazing buffet ever! (well in grants opinion anyway). A BBQ buffet. Grant found himself once again on cloud 9, there was tons of meat, seafood, even honey tasting chips, it was delicious! Made it down onto the beach and started a campfire, our guide brought out rice wine and we drunk it from coconut! It was scrumptious. We all talked for ages, then had to say goodnight – I couldn’t remember where id put my flip flops, it was too dark to see…I’d lost them! Until the morning…they got washed up onto the beach, they were al battered and just about broken! We sadly had to leave the island at 8am. It was too early, grant wanted to pay to stay an extra night, he even said he wanted to stay on the island for the rest of his life he loved it there that much, bless!
Sunday 25th april. Expensive pineapple! (writing this on sleeper train to Hoi An)
We met with Kylie and Kyle at the bridge on the lake where I bought a book off a young lad – then he came back up to us and asked Kyle if he wanted to buy weed…weird! We had a very nice meal on the top floor restaurant balcony. Overlooking the hectic city with all the traffic going by honking their horns as usual! It was so loud! (got a video of the view of the city that you’ll hopefully be able to see on you tube soon of how crazy it is). Walked along some night markets, had a right laugh! Then had to say our goodbyes and hoped to meet again!
The next morning we set out to find cheap train tickets to Hoi An, we went in so many different agencies, they were so expesive, I then rembered that K&K (Kylie & kyle) had got their tickets real cheap at the hotel they were staying at. So we got a map and attempted to follow it to find the hotel. And es, that’s right dad, I actually used a map and found the place we had to get to, lol. They guy was very nice and got us everything we wanted and for cheap! We were so happy we found it! On our way back to pass some time by before getting out train we head out in search for a pair of cheap daps fo grant, but they were all 500,000 Dong (roughly 20 pounds) too much with the budget we’re on. Along the way we get stopped by an old lady selling fruit, but we didn’t want any, told her no thinking she’d go away, but she didn’t – she offered us to try on her hat and to hold her fruit for a photo – so for some fun we did, she then said to just have a bag of pineapple – grant so nicely thought bless her for being so nice, he’d give her some money for letting us take the photos with her things on, as I was bending down picking out some pineapple – asking how much – she said 250,000 Dong?!?!?!? And without thinking twice, grant just handed her the money! And she was on her way (rather rapidly). By the time I’d got up from bending down I’d worked out that grant had just paid that dear old woman about a weeks worth of pay! Roughly a tenner!?!?!? FOR A PIECE OF PINEAPPLE?*!@? We were fuming, at the fact we were trying to be nice and she robbed us! We were descusted. That afternoon we calmed down by spending some time at the cinema, we bought tickets to see 2 films one after the other! It was weird being in a different country watching a film with vietnmese people!
Later that evening we got to the train station, a guy came up to us who we thought worked there and was being helpful showing us to our cart, but then turned to me and said “tip?” The cheek! But I was stupid enough to ask how much! And just gave him the money, which wasn’t much – but you know me lol. The train was real comfy – nothing too fancy, just basic bed ect. Got a good nights sleep. Arriving to Da Nang, the scenery from up on the track in the mountains were georgous! We spotted a beach – it looked amazing! The waves looked pefect – grant was gobsmacked! The water was clear, the sun was out, the palm trees looked perfect. It was the perfect arrival. Our taxi driver met us at the station where he held a sign saying “stacey” on it, it was funny, we felt important lol. Bless us! 40 minutes later, we arrived at Hoi An. Checked into our hotel which was lush. Then hit the streets. Where every shop we passed tailor makes everything you could ask for! We got dragged into one, but it was too expensive. We had been told we could buy stuff for cheap but it wasn’t at all! So I just bought a dress already made that was off a rack at the front of the shop! We then came across a store where they sold wooden carved ornaments. There were 3 guys outside sat on the floor making the sculptures! So we bought one! A happy buddha.
Met K&K for an evening meal , they took us to the riverfront, which was so romantic. There were lights in the trees, lanterns everywhere, it was breathtaking! They introduced us to wonton – which was tastey, when we got the bill we noticed they hadnt charged us for our starters or for some of the drinks we had. So we hurried up and paid and then left quickly! Arranged to rent bikes the following day to go to the beach.
The next day we got to the bike shop, kyle requested a bike in every colour, it was funny! It was scary on the roadon bikes, vehicles honking their horns as they overtook, and at cross juntions, you just had to go for it, if you hesitated – you probably would get hit by something. We passed some beautiful restaurants and some rice fields. Parked up in a little shed and the guy started singing to us. It was crine worthy. We walked off slowly lol. Got down to the beach and woah – it was a really nice beach. With Cham Island in the far distance. We all had a dip in the clear blue sea,it was relaxing, no horns or traffic or no one bothering you, well that’s until we got to the sun loungers where all the ladies dressed in full clothing – bobble hates and gloves, and fleeces came bothering us trying to sell us crap?!?? On our way back on the bikes kyle got some video footage of us. (which you can see on you tube – will be letting you know as soon as we upload the videos).
We gave the bikes back then visited Rainbow Divers to book our Padi Liscence Course! We had to fill out tons of forms that worried me a little. I kept telling grant it was a waste of time paying for me to do the course as I would never be able to pass it, I couldn’t even fill out the form it was that intence let alone pass exams and learn about scuba diving! But – we ended up paying for the 2 of us. John, one of the instructors asked us to stay to watch one of the films to get a good head start, so we stayed, got our manuals and started to do the quizzes. We took the first exam too – grant passed with flying colours, but for me – I only got 8/10 which got me a pass! We got to the hotel and we started revising, we stayed up until early hours of the morning. We were bright and early ready for class at 9am… We watched 4 videos that corrisponded to each chapter in our manuals. At the same time of watching the videos we had to answer tons of questions, it was sort of a revision class for our exams the next day. It was solid-the most difficult thing to learn about. I didn’t think I would ever get to understand any of it. But I will surprise you when I say this-I got it!! George our instructor told us to go away, forget about the manual and destress before our pool session tomorrow. And that’s exactly what we did. Took a walk down by the river where there was a big celebration for the new moon. Everyone was letting lanterns go in the river for good luck. I bought one, but didn’t make a wish so grant bought another and I did it again this time tho I made a wish. I tried getting a good shot of it as it was floating extremely slow down the river all alone. There was so much going on so we left the area and went back to the hotel.
Pool Session
Woke up bright and early and once again I kept making excuses and hoped grant didn’t want to go either , I was rather nervous about the day, but and hour later we were practicing how to put a BCD on to a tank and how to attach the 1st stage to BCD. Then not long after putting it all together we were in the pool under water breathing. I was a little nervous in the beginning but got it in the end. We learnt all the skills for open water for example how to let water fill your mask and then blow throught your nose to clear it out, how to blow out bubbles when you don’t a your regulator in your mouth. Their were quite a lot. We had a break and then learnt some more. It was all quite worrying but with a bit of practice once we had completed the skill successfully our instructor would ok us and shake our hand. Our session ended at the pool so we headed to the classroom to take our exams. They were quite difficult… BUT WE PASSED!!
Open water dives
Made up excusses not to go again but a short mini bus ride later we were at the harbour. Got talking to a polish couple on our boat who were out snorkelling for the day, I then wished I had only signed up for snorkelling. We set off, both of us looking quite worried. It wasn’t long in to the journey that grant got ill. We had to set up our gear, wait for the boat to stop and then swim around it four times. On the first lap grant started throwing up and again, and again….and again. We finished the laps and were out of the water in no time. Got our wet suits on, got our gear on and did the five point check. Then had to do a giant stride off the back of the boat. I crapped myself, began shaking, had to take a breather, then took one big step and was in the water-still shaking with nerves. Apart from still being sick grant did it with no problems. We did a few skills hen took our first breath under water!!! Began to descend – I began with problems equalising, (thought that might have been a way of getting out of carrying on with the dive, but carried on) took it slow and before I knew it we were at the bottom letting go of the rope and there we were – SCUBA DIVING! The feeling was out of this world. The corals’ colours were beautfiul and breathtaking. We saw tons of different types of fish, they were unreal. We got to see a one year od wreck too and swam around it. We were so chuffed, it seemed unreal, like out of a film. We then made our first ascend then had to carry out a ‘tired diver push’. Goot back on the boat and had fresh fruit served. Grant didn’t eat anything, bless – as he was still ill. We got to our 2nd diving point which was called the ‘living reef.’ It was also amazing – we saw a lot of blue star fish, which the colour of them was flourescent. When the dive was over we got back on the boat then headed to an island for lunch. Grant once again didn’t eat much, so more for me and everyone else at the table! Filled out our log books for the first time. Used our nitrogeon charts and worked out our pressure groups. Heading back tyo the harbour was the best feeling ever, but knowing we had to do this all again tomorrow wasn’t a good feeling. Our instructor gave us a name of a tablet to buy for grants sea sickness. Later on in the evening we were straight to the shops buying some. Got some goodies to treat out poor selves to after the day we had. Last but not least – our final day of the course came. Up bright and early – got picked up for the last time and made our way to the harbour. There was a bigger group on the boat this time though, more staff from another store – it was quite hectic. A little while later we both started feeling rough. George came over to us to give us a breif lesson on how to use a compass, which I thought was going to be a fun and short lesson (not) as I don’t have a clue when it comes to ‘never eat shreaded wheat’ lol. In the middle of george’s lecture grant stood up and made his way to the side of the boat to be sick, bless. Completed our lesson then had ten minutes to chill before having to get all our gear on and putting our BCD together. In the water, before we knew it we had completed our first skills where we had to breath out in one big breath coming up from 6 meteres under. The water. Got to the surface – banged my head on the bottom of the boat where I then had to wait for grant to complete the skill. I found it hard catching my breath, so led back and pulled my mask down off of my face around my neck, 2 seconds later I was spewing my guts out…into my mask, it was mortyfying. The people swimming around the boat could see and hear me, I appologised and when I thought I was finished – I was wrong. I swam beside george and carried on with the dive.
We had a chinease man who buddied up with george for the dive who was told to stick together and was informed that we were on our last day of our course and would be completing our skills before we could go exploring. He couldn’t even descend, so george had to go back up for him. He couldn’t swim properly under water and when it came to stopping for us to do our skills he was no where to be seen. We looked around for him for one minute then ascended to the surface to find him. We descended again but this time george grabbed him for him to swim along side of him. We rested for the second dive – which was a bummer as everyone told us that the visability was really good. Then we found out that the next stop was at the same place we dived at yesturday, which wasn’t a problem but the current was bad. We were a couple of skills away from qualifying as scuba divers! It was a great feeling. Waiting for grant to complete his skill – I really needed a wee! I signaled to george that I had to go, but he signalled back to say no. I couldn’t hold it in – so just went. After my quick toilet break, we finally completed all our skills, got our ok signals and our hand shakes and there and then – WE’D PASSED! Gave each other a high five, we were so chuffed that we had completed and qualified the course. Geoorge took a couple of photos on our dive, which turned out pretty amazing. When we got to the surface I was made to get back into the water to take my wetsuit off as punishment for peeing in georges’ brand new wetsuit. Got to the island where we had lunch again and a right laugh with the guys from the other store. Later on that evening, still feeling rough from our boat trip we decided to head out for grub – which I hardly touched, but I felt that ill still.
The next morning we had lie in which was heaven, no boat trip, no worrying over skills etc. packed our bags and checked out. We paid for an overnight train which left that evening. Rented some bikes and rode to the beach, it was so hot! We were both drenched in sweat, parked up and that’s when grant began his shoppping spree. We ended up getting gifts and more boardies for grant and more dresses for me. When we got down to the beach we planned to head straight to the sea to avoid the women selling sunloungers. Instead we attracted the ladies who sold jewlery and all sorts. Grant bailed on me – ran into the sea leaving me to get rid of her, but I browsed through some of her things and actually wanted to buy a load of things. Grant in the sea giving me signalls not to buy anything then came out and straight away told the lady NO! if looks could have killed, god she gave grant evils and said “you make me no lucky today.” It was my turn to have a cool down in the sea. After 5 minutes she was still sat next to grant – bless him. He couldn’t get rid of her. I asked off him to take a photo of me – and when he got the camera out she soon left. We had lunch at the beach front restaurant and so they gave us free sunloungers. We took advantage, not long afater we settled down and noticed a guy with a thai bride. Wherever the guy was from we were utterly disctusted. He looked the image of fat b****** from austin powers- that’s all he needed was a plate full of chicken drum sticks, lol after making a few jokes we headed back on the bikes to return them.
we had to sort out our photos, get them onto discs to be able to send a copy back home. so we hunted down a guy who burnt discs. we had one hour before the post office closed and wanted to get everythiing packed up and posted by sea mail - which was quite alot of stuff as we'd been buying things from each place. it was 7pm, and the guy told us to come back at quater past. but when we did he said he didnt do any of them as he wanted to ask us if we wanted our videos seperate to our photos, we agreed for him to do what ever was easiest. so once again left him to it - another 15 minutes later we went back for them, he said he wanted us to check that they were all on there before we leeft his shop, so we stood there whilst he watched all our videos...we were looking at the clock thinking to ourselves we are never going to make it to the post office.when he finally checked through all of the discs we were then in a huge rush to get to the god dam post office...we called for a taxi and when we got in i told him to put his foot down - and thats exactly what he done. through a set of traffic lights he went, turned around the corner and nearly killed a couple. swerving through all the traffic - we s*** ourselves. the taxi driver did get us to the post office, we ran in with a huge bag of stuff, the lady looked at us and must of thought to herself that we sucked. she didnt look at all impressed, bless. but we needed for this stuff to go asap! she done a good job of boxing it all up. rapped it up real good, she was quite ratty with me when asking me to fill out the forms. i done what she told me to do and gave her a tip when she'd finished. now we wait...for 3-4 months for it to get home!? the lady took quite a long time wrapping the stuff so we only had 20 minutes to get back to the hotel and to get grub before our taxi came for us at 9pm. we sat in the restaurant next to the hotel and ordered food, then minutes later our taxi pulled up...he was 10 minutes early though. so we offereded for him to come sit with us, but he didnt want to. anyway - we finished our grub and got to the station at half 9, when our train to Na Trang wasnt arriving untill 11pm. so we had some waiting to do. then after that waiting, we find out that its delayed by an hour!!! just before the train arrived i ended up getting the squirts, literatly everything just doesnt go right for us at all. we made our way to the platform where the train pulled up. we took one look inside and i just wabted to cry! the seats were woden benches and they were upright. STRAIGHTER THAN A RULER INFACT!!! as we hopped on thats all we could smell was pee, a couple overheard us saying how much of a joke we thought it was and told us that its horryfying and that theyd been on the sae train before. we couldnt work out which was worse, the fact we were in for one hell of a night or the fact that this couple had not only been through the torchure of this train once but were about to do it all over again?!?! we found our seats, which were behind one another. i looked down and was so naffed off - there were people led directly under my seat which meant i coulndt put my feet down, i looked at grant with pure evil eyes and told him i couldnt sit with my legs on the seat for 10 hours!!! a couple then spoke out loud and offered to swap seat with me which meant they could sit next to one another and me and grant could too. even though i there were no people under our seats the seta were still torchure!!! rock hard and you just couldnt get conformtabel on them. i turned to grant to say something - and there he was with his huge backpack on his lap, bless him. he looked at me and said - "dont touch me, dont speak to me, dont even look at me!" he was so mad at the situation. we couldnt believe what we were about to go through. after fidgeting for about 30 minutes the lights were turned off and we were soon odding off to sleep (in thee most rediculous positions ever!) we must have woke every hour on the hour. it was unbearably frustrating. a rucksack fell on my head - which made grant found amusing. the next time we woke the sun was out, everyone was up brushing their hair and teeth. we still had a couple of hours to go. we were late arriving so when we got off the train & made it through the crowd of men surrounding us trying to get us in their taxi's, it starts to rain! grant spots a shopping mall so we ran across to it and grabbed a quick burger. when we'd finished it was still hammering it down outside, so decided to get a taxi to a hotel we'd got a flyer of. we agreed a price and got in,but when we arrived to the hotel he demanded more from us, which naffed us right off. we checked in, waited in a bedroom for our room to be cleaned then when it was ready we were moved thinking we were going to get a seaview which we asked for - but didnt! we couldnt be bothered to mess about so settled down. late on we checked our mail to find that K&K had got in touch, so we emailed to say that we'd meet them later on at their hotel. but an hour later at 7pm when we got there, we had just missed them! they'd gone out to an BBQ, we left them a note at reception for them to meet us at the rainbow bar and that we would wait up untill 10pm for them to come. 9pm came around and there they were, we had a right laugh catching up on all our stories then the bar soon closed, they had to go and pack for the morning as they had to get up early. But we couldn’t find it, so turned back on ourselves. We come across a man selling paintings, grants first words were – we cant afford one sorry! But to cut a long story short we baught 3. Lol. The only thing that was good about the beach was that you could see the cable cart stretching from one island to another and the sign on the mountain- vinpearl. There was rubbish everywhere, which was very disapointing as we had been looking forward to this beach. It was horrible so we didn’t stick around for long. Later on that evening we flagged down a taxi an asked for him to take us to the bbq restaurent that k and k told us to go to. When we arrived it was amazing, it was a very popular place, there were locals everywhere. We ordered loads of raw meat, and cooked it on our own little bbq. The shrimp were huge which made grant happy, it was so cool. We didn’t want to leave, but after we finished that’s not all we experienced. We walked back so far along the beach front where grant spotted the night market. We walked right to the end where a guy had a little food stall, that’s sold grilled crocodile- so we got a plate and shared it. I wasn’t convinced, to much like chicken.
The following morning at 8am we were on our next journey- on a bus to mue ne. what should have been four our turned out to be six. We asked to be dropped of near a hotel we had read about, it was beyond boiling and the first second we got off the bus we were dripping with sweat. We didn’t end up liking the hotel so we ended up walking a long way in and out of each hotel we passed. We then gave up and settled for a little family run hotel that had a pool. We had a balcony outside our door with a lovely sea view. When we went down to reception to give them our passports we bumped in to k and k who also happened to be staying at the hotel. We were all straight in the pool it was to good to be true-the waves were crashing into the hotel garden wall. Got back to our room to take a shower and the damn shower wasn’t working. So we went and got someone to fix it, he game and took a look at it and walkedd out of the room so I went to get the lady at reception-who was a b****. She said the shower was fine(it wasn’t) we said for the money we were paying for the room we wanted a shower that worked properly. She said she would give us discount ! things were looking up…. $1??? We began to pack our things and said we were going to leave, thinking she would drop the price. But she said if we leave we would have to pay for the room which would mean we would loose out. We basically had no choice and ended up staying. We headed out for food and on the way saw k and k so had food in the hotel and then when to a really cool bar for some drinks. We played some pool and then 2 english guys came in, and we all played poker- then the drinking games began. At the end of the night all the boys were drunk and when we got to the hotel they all ended up jumping in the pool and didn’t get out till 3.30am.
The next morning we all had breaky toby and ben were nowhere to be seen. A little later when we were all in the pool we noticed movment. After chilling in the pool we dicided to rent motobikes and to visit the white sand dunes. It was hysterical- I was on the back holding on for dear life and grant tells me he dosent know how to stop. K and k were infront of us jerking back and fourth every time kyle changed gear- he didn’t know you had to let the throtle of where you changed gear. Between the 4 of us we made the knew dumb and dumbers. When we arrived at the dunnes we were surrounded by 20 kids trying to sell us plastis to slide down them. They followed us to the top of the dunnes thinking that we would give them money for a go, but at the top grant decided not to try it because it wasn’t steep enough and kyle had done it before. We told the kids we would pay them to have a couple of goes but they werent interested and stormed off like stroppy teenagers. On the ride back to the hotel we had some great fun taking videos and photos of eachother. We stopped for a quick shower and then met back downstairs to go out into the town for dinner to make the most out of using the bikes. It was a real nice drive with the sun setting down over the sea. The next day we had all booked tickets for a bus to saigon the bus took nearly six hours. Went we got there we backpacked our way through some alleyways where we found our way to a cheap hotel. We went out for food and ended the night browsing through the night market where we bought coconuts to drink from.
In the morning we walked around trying to find a place to get U.S dollars for when we were going to cambodia, and on the way we passed by a circus so we all bought tickets. In the afternoon we all walked to find the war museum which was impressive. For lunch we went to a local restaurant I had lasagne which im pretty sure gave me food poisoning or just a really bad case of sickness and dioreah. I was literatly up for hours soaking myself with cold water, I was worried as in a couple of hours I was getting on a bus for 6 hours to get to cambodia.
It soon came morning, grant woke up – and I was still ill. I couldn’t go anywhere for breakfast so asked for grant to go get me something to see if I could keep it down. I rang down to reception and asked them if we could keep the room until the last minute. We were on the bus for about five minutes and it broke down, and had to wait outside where it was boiling which made me feel even worse. We got on to a new bus which took us over the border into Cambodia.
(photos and more blog entries coming soon...we promise) love you all, thanks for the messages everyone xxx
