So it was back to Ottawa, this time to stay with Graham's other cousin Rosie, and her husband Danny. We also met their son Mathew, but unfortunately their daughter Katy was away at Uni, so we did not get to meet her.We spent the afternoon chatting and catching up and then had a great BBQ in the evening, and Jack and his family came over too.
The next day Rosie made us French toast and pancakes with maple syrup, as a traditional Canadian breakfast, and in the afternoon we went to the National Gallery. There was a Pop Art special exhibition on which I really wanted to see, so Jack, Danielle and Danny came along with us.Well, let's say the exhibition was interesting, if not pornographic at times! There was some good stuff, but others were just plain weird and/or rude!We then took a look at the Canadian art, as well as some of the modern, European and Asian art, so we got a good mix and the building was fantastic. That evening we all had dinner together again, and spent yet another evening drinking and chatting - you can imagine what a challenge all this drinking and socialising has been for us!
In the morning we all went out for breakfast at Cora. This is a franchise, so definitely look out for one if you go to Canada, as the food was amazing. We then went to the Science and Technology museum with Rosie and Danny. This was very different to yesterday's day trip, being very hands on and suitable for all ages!We had great fun in the Crazy Kitchen (see photo) and playing with the various machines and gadgets that they had on display, but Graham also managed to get stuck in a tube slide - unfortunately I didn't have the camera ready for that one!
So, it was with great sadness that we said our goodbyes to our Canadian cousins, as we had such a fantastic time with them. But, as always, time is pushing on and so we left Ontario and entered Quebec, as we drove to Montreal.
