Hi Guys,

Here in Ecuador it is National holiday for three days so we have more time off from stove building. We decided to go to the beach for three days with the other volunteers - to Atacames.
It was a 6 hour journey in our family's bus, driven by our host 'dad', Juime. Some of the guys left the day before and had to go by bus, which was a 10 hour journey!

Atacames is the party capital of Ecuador, with lots of bars on the beach.
We booked ourselves into the hostel at $12 a night. We then all went for breakfast and off to the beach. We went swimming and played football.
Lots of bruised shins and sore feet as the sand was hard, good fun though.
In the evening we all went to the beach bars to drink and dance. One chap fell asleep on the beach, so it was a really good night! We got in at four am.
Next day we did more of the same thing but more chilled.
We played poker and had cocktails and later we had drinks on the roof of our hostel - rum and whisky.
Most people went out a second night but we stayed home because Lindsey was poorly - or was it too much rum from the previous night?
