Graham & Jane
Well it was supposed to be a little walk, BUT !!!!
Our original choice was to take it easy today with a short walk around from our hotel, however we ended up walking for a few hours, thanks to Graham going on once of his jaunts and then misreading the map, nothing changes.
We were to walk to the Arc de Triomphe, then a short way down Champs Elysee to ensure we had a coffee or lunch on Champs Elysee, and then back to the hotel, which we did, or at least the first part.
We walked to the Arc and Jane sat watching the world go by whilst Graham walked to the top. Walking up the Wallace Monument on Tuesday was great training for this climb. Unlike the Wallace, there are no intermediate stops on this climb, but there are some very nice benches when you get to the top for you to rest and get your breath back.
Once on the top there is a great view all over Paris, especially on a sunny day as we were fortunate enough to get today. Hope you enjoy the few photos of the views.
We then strolled down the Champs Elysee and had a very nice lunch before deciding to take a slight detour on the way back, this took almost 2 hours with us seeing some of the back streets of Paris and found a nice little museum.
Following a short rest we managed to stroll a short distance up the street to a very nice Belgian restaurant where there were more Mussel dishes than either of us thought possible.
