Grace's Adventures!
Hey everyone my first entry! Now I\\\' m gonna write about Thailand here even though it says New Zealand because when I set up my website I only did it for Ausralasia because I was only in Thailand for a week and by requesting just Australasia you get a much closer up view of both countries so can see where I am better - so not so blonde after all eh?!!
Thailand was absolutely fantastic - getting off the plane was pretty scary as I just didn\\\'t know what lay ahead of me, but I got my transfer ok and travelled to the hotel right in the centre. Was quite a fascinating journey, they are mental drivers - lots of weaving in and out, and it looked so different to the cities of England, quite shabby and dirty looking, and there were people everywhere once we got off the freeway. Loads of food stalls on the side of the roads, tuk tuks (motorbike type thing with proper carriage thing on the back!) and whole families on scooters with no helmets!
Went straight into the Intrepid tour meeting as soon as I got there which had only just began - didn\\\'t even check into my room before that! Met my roomie who was nice, then all went for dinner in a little place next door which was amazing! Didn\\\'t get to know everyone really till the middle of the week, but after that I was fairly comfortable with most people, and got on really well with some people. The whole time I was there it really wasn\\\'t colder than 30 degrees I am sure which I found pretty hard sometimes it just got to me, but the ozzys (most of them were!) weren\\\'t finding it too hot!
Our first day was pretty much travelling by bus for about 7 hours, we had a long lunch break and a few toliet breaks and it seemed to go quite quick as the scenery was so good for most of it - farms of all kinds, temples, people to watch, then mountains, lush forests, then eventually out guest house where we stayed for 2 nights. It was the most amazing place, it looked out over a beautiful big lake with rainforest all around and on the opposite side a small wooden houses village and floating houses. The restaurant and reception area were all wooden and open and the bedroom blocks were sweet little wooden and stone buildings. From my bedroom you walked down just a few yards the hill past a few more bedrooms and were at the lakes edge - fantastic. Have run out of time now (only got net for an hour) and its late, so will try and write the rest tomorrozw.
