Good morning from Rio in Brazil!! We arrived in Rio on Sunday and met up with Jen, Fi and Amy in our hostel in Ipanema. Rio has an amazing atmosphere and the beaches and scenery are stunning, as are the men! Seriously, if any of the spinsters are reading this, this is the place to come to find ourselves a fit, toned, bronzed, brazilian god! They do, however, seem to have a tendency to wear skimpy speedos on the beach but you can forgive them for this! On Sunday night we went to a Favela party...basically a locals nightclub out in a fairly rough area but it was a fantastic night out! It was pretty much Samba music but the dancing going on was great fun and Sarah was loving the fact that men over here all seem to go clubbing with their tops off!! Only downside to going to this party were the number of men who come up to you with the original chat up line of "i want to keeeess you". There was some serious bling being worn and lots of huge gold chains with dollar signs hanging off them! Claire. Jen and Fi went tandem handgliding yesterday, whilst Sarah and Amy hit the beach and you will be pleased to hear that a sneaky picture of a selection of brazilian gods on the beach was taken, although i did feel like a complete pervert! This will be put on the website very soon for your viewing pleasure! Watched the sunset over the beach which was pretty cool and then went to a Churrascaria last night for dinner. This is a unlimited meat restaurant and even the salad bar alone would have filled you up! They bring round loads of different meat on a spit and you have a card saying "yes please" or "no thank you" for whether you can manage any more meat!! Unfortunately this didnt stop Sarah from unwittingly ending up with 4 chickens hearts, much to the amusement of the waiter. Don't worry, they weren't eaten and Sarah managed to get rid of them them on the special rubbish plate. Claire is heading off to Salvador in the North of Brazil tonight for the rest of the week with Jen and Fi and I am going to stay in Rio to experience the weekend nightlife, despite the price of the drinks here! Also intending to tandem handglide tomorrow over copacabana bay which Claire tells me is amazing!
