We waved goodbye to Stu and Margaret and headed south - well we didn't want to feel we were on the way home sooner than we needed to! So we cross the Adriatic from Greece. An interesting experience in terms of the organisation (or lack of) at Igomenitsa harbour. We arrived early for the ferry and being the Brits we are, expected to wait in a neat queue of cars, vans etc before boarding. Oh no you don't, in Greece you drive directly onto the quayside and park up roughly around the berth for your ship (#7) in our case and wait until it arrives...when it does, everyone drives en mass...

Just a quick update here as we only spent 2 nights in Meteora but it was quite a dramatic place. It is these huge rocks that were pushed up from the earth about 10 million years ago, give or take a few centuries. They've then eroded to give these really wierd rock formations. On the way from Mount Olympus to the Pelion Peninsula we stopped in at another archeological site - ancient Dion. This was where the ancients worshipped Zeus etc and was where Alexander the Great built a sanctuary to his favourite god, Isis. It was a very big site and not all that well explained so some of it just looked like rubble, but the sanctuary to Isis was quite evocative, I guess because there was water there and still some statues.
