Had to make our own way back to hotel. We saw a tram stop right outside our hotel so we decided we would try that. Well.... A bit of an adventure but thank god for Douglas' Italian. Asked a couple of people and yeah we found it!!!!! Mind you raining all the way. And doesn't my translator look good in his $2 poncho. Knew when we bought them 10 years ago they would come in handy.

Started the day with a trip to the Academy of Fine Arts where we saw Michaelangelo's David. WOW!!! Then on to Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistry's "Gates of Paradise". These are in the Signoria Square where there are also lots of sculptures, replicas mainly. Had a few hours free so we went to the Palazzo Pitti.
